Anxiety Disorders

Worries are a part of everyday life no matter what age you are. However, for some people, worries can turn into anxiety, panic attacks and phobias. Anxiety distorts natural worries out of proportion. Symptoms of anxiety vary and do not always occur on their own, and many individuals with anxiety, cycle through periods of wellness followed by relapse, making it hard to sometimes diagnose.

Living with anxiety can make you feel like you have absolutely no control over anything in your life.

“The good life is a process, not a state of being.” – Carl Rogers

I use evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to assess and treat anxiety disorders, help clients of all ages build a variety of skills for taming their fears, and take charge of their anxious thoughts. An important part of therapy also involves lifestyle and nutritional changes, as well as coaching parents with problem-solving strategies to support and encourage their anxious child or adolescent manage and overcome anxiety in healthy ways.

My goal is to help individuals access their inner resources so they feel confident enough to face anxiety and manage possible setbacks.

It’s hard to face anxiety by yourself. You can change how you respond to anxiety and regain your sense of control over your life. To learn more about effective solutions for overcoming the fears that stand in your way or a family member’s way of living a full, happy life, contact me today.
