I help individuals and families work through a variety of mental health and life struggles including adjusting and navigating life transitions and changes, anxiety, depression, prenatal and postpartum anxiety and depression, family and parenting problems, grief and stress responses.

Confidentiality and Privacy Policy

In general, the privacy of all communications between a client and a psychologist is protected by law, I cannot release any information about our work to others without written permission from you or the client’s guardian/parent in the case of a minor/dependent adult. But there are a few exceptions where disclosure is mandated by law. These exceptions include but are not limited, to the following situations:

  • Where there is known/reasonable suspicion that a child, elderly person, dependent or disabled adult is being physically, sexually, and/emotionally abused, neglected or exploited, or willfully exposed to pain, suffering, or danger. I am required by law to contact and make a report with the appropriate county Department of Social Services and state agency.
  • Where there is reasonable suspicion/disclosure that a client/patient is in imminent danger of harming self/others, requiring protective actions to be taken. I am required by law to release information about you to keep you safe, including referring you for hospitalization and protecting your intended victim by contacting the police.
  • To provide information about our work in therapy (including “medical necessity” diagnosis, session dates, symptoms, treatment plan, prognosis) to your insurance provider or EAP, when applicable, as a condition of payment for treatment.

I am required by law to maintain and safeguard the privacy of your Protected Health Information (PHI) and to provide you with a notice of my legal duties and privacy practices with respect to PHI and to make this notice available on my website.
